Our take on the ASICS GEL-Torrance Men's Running Shoe

The ASICS GEL-Torrance is an entry-level men's running shoe with a mesh upper, GEL cushioning and a rubber outsole. ASICS lists it as a trail shoe, but the flat, modestly lugged outsole suits light paths and gym-to-street wear more than technical singletrack. The best new price is $77 at GOAT as of November 7, 2026, with only two stores stocking it new, so color and size options are thin.

Questions and answers

Is the GEL-Torrance a real trail shoe?
Only lightly. It has a rubber outsole with shallow tread, so it handles gravel paths and packed dirt but not wet roots, mud or steep descents.
How does it compare with the ASICS GEL-Contend?
Both are budget trainers with GEL heel cushioning. The GEL-Contend is a road shoe with a smoother ride; the Torrance adds a slightly more aggressive outsole for light trails.
Does it fit true to size?
Most buyers take their usual US size, but several with wider feet say the medium width runs snug and recommend a half size up.
Is $77 a good price?
It is the best new price found as of November 7, 2026, at GOAT, and sits at the low end for a branded running shoe. With only two stores stocking it, discounts are unlikely to go much deeper.
What is in the box?
One pair of shoes with the stock laces. No extra insoles or socks are included.
Can I use it for everyday walking?
Yes. The mesh upper and cushioned heel make it comfortable for walking and gym sessions, and the casual grey and green colorways work off the trail.
Where is the ASICS GEL-Torrance Men's Running Shoe cheapest?
At GOAT, for $77.00, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the ASICS GEL-Torrance Men's Running Shoe?
Rated 3.9 out of 5 from 35 ratings.
