Our take on the Astercook 6-Piece Flower Kitchen Knife Set

The Astercook 6-Piece Flower Kitchen Knife Set is a budget knife block alternative: an 8-inch chef's, bread and slicing knife, a 7-inch santoku, a 5-inch utility and a 3.5-inch paring knife, each with a floral-printed blade and a guard. Blades are high-carbon German stainless steel sharpened to a 14-15 degree edge and coated with a Teflon layer the brand calls patented anti-rust technology; handles are smooth polypropylene and ambidextrous. It is dishwasher safe, and the brand says it passed 999 dishwasher cycles. The only price on record is $14.89 at Walmart as of October 30, 2026, which is both the low and the high of its tracked range, so there is no cheaper day to wait for.

Pros
  • Six knives covering chef, bread, slicing, santoku, utility and paring tasks
  • Sharp 14-15 degree edge out of the box
  • Teflon coating helps food release and adds rust resistance
  • Dishwasher safe, with the brand citing 999 test cycles
  • Ambidextrous smooth handles suit most hand sizes
  • Blade guards included for drawer storage
Cons
  • Partial tang and polypropylene handles signal a light-duty build
  • Teflon coating can wear with repeated dishwasher cycles
  • Guards add bulk, so the knives will not fit a standard block
  • 14-15 degree edges are thin and need frequent honing
  • No storage block or sharpener in the box

Questions and answers

Is the Astercook flower knife set worth it?
At $14.89 at Walmart as of October 30, 2026, it is a low-cost way to cover six cutting tasks with sharp blades. Expect light-duty steel and handles rather than forged-knife durability.
Can these knives go in the dishwasher?
Yes. The set is dishwasher safe, and Astercook says it passed 999 dishwasher tests. Hand washing will still keep the Teflon coating and edges in better shape longer.
What is in the box?
An 8-inch chef's knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch slicing knife, 7-inch santoku, 5-inch utility knife and 3.5-inch paring knife, plus six blade guards. No block or sharpener is included.
Will the knives fit in a knife block?
Usually not with the guards on. Owners report the guards add bulk, so the knives only fit a block once the guards are removed.
How sharp are the blades?
They are sharpened to a 14-15 degree angle, which is thinner than typical Western kitchen edges. That cuts well but needs regular honing and careful handling.
When is the best time to buy?
The tracked price has only been $14.89 at Walmart since October 30, 2026, with no lower day recorded. There is no cheaper window to wait for based on its history.
What do buyers say about the Astercook 6-Piece Flower Kitchen Knife Set?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 1,100 ratings. Buyers like: Beautiful floral design on the blades; Very sharp blades that cut with minimal effort; Comfortable, easy-to-grip handles. Common complaints: Blade guards add bulk and prevent the knives from fitting in a block.
