Questions and answers

Is this knife set worth it?
At $18.89 for six pieces plus a block, yes if you need basic knives and don't want to spend much. If you cook daily and care about sharpness, a single better chef's knife costs more but lasts longer.
Can I put these knives in the dishwasher?
Hand washing is the safer choice. Dishwasher heat and detergent can break down the non-stick coating and dull the edges faster.
What's included in the box?
Six pieces: chef's knife, slicing knife, bread knife, utility knife, paring knife and kitchen shears, plus the storage block.
How does it compare with a forged knife set?
These are stamped stainless blades with a coating, so they are lighter and cheaper than forged sets. Forged knives hold an edge longer and usually cost several times more.
When is the cheapest time to buy?
The price has stayed at $18.89 since October 28, 2026, so there has been no cheaper day yet. Watch for holiday kitchen sales if you can wait.
Is the block real wood?
The block is a budget composite wood-style block, not solid hardwood. It holds the knives upright but is light and best kept away from standing water.
What do buyers say about the Astercook Knife Set 6-Piece Kitchen Knives Set with Block & Non-Stick Healthy Coating?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 96 ratings.
