- Is the Asus ExpertBook Ultra B9406 worth $2,900?
- That depends on how much you value 2.2 lb weight, a 120Hz 2880 x 1800 touchscreen and 32 GB RAM. If you mostly work in a browser and Office, a cheaper 14-inch business laptop will do. If you travel constantly and want one machine with long battery life, the price is in line with premium ultraportables.
- How does it compare with the ExpertBook B9?
- The B9 is Asus's older ultralight line. The B9406 adds a higher-resolution 120Hz touchscreen and 32 GB RAM in a similar 14-inch, roughly 2.2 lb body. Check the exact B9 configuration, since older models use lower-wattage CPUs and smaller memory.
- Does the 24-hour battery life hold up in real use?
- Asus's 24-hour figure is a rated maximum, typically measured at low brightness with light workloads. Expect well under that with the 120Hz touchscreen at full brightness and heavy apps, but a full workday should be realistic.
- Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
- It ships with 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD. On ultraportables this thin, memory is usually soldered, so buy the configuration you need up front. Storage may be replaceable, but check before relying on it.
- What ports does it have?
- The listed ports are USB-C, HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is no USB-A, so plan on a USB-C hub or adapter for older peripherals and card readers.
- When is it cheapest?
- The best new price was $2,900 at eBay as of November 5, 2026. Business laptops like this tend to drop during back-to-school and holiday sales and when a successor launches, so watch those windows.
