Questions and answers

Is the ROG Xbox Ally worth $599.99?
It is a fair price for a 120Hz Windows handheld with 512 GB, but it is the top of its recent range, so waiting for a sale is reasonable. Buy it now if you mainly want Game Pass and PC games in a handheld.
How is it different from the standard ROG Ally?
This is the Xbox-branded model, tuned with Microsoft for Xbox-style controls and Game Pass. The standard ROG Ally is the older Asus-only line, so check which chip and screen each model uses before comparing prices.
How long does the battery last?
Expect a few hours at best in demanding games and longer with cloud streaming or lighter titles. Keep a charger or power bank for long trips.
Can it play games outside the Xbox app?
Yes. It runs Windows, so Steam, Epic, and other PC stores work too. Some games need settings tweaks to run well on the handheld hardware.
What is in the box?
The console, a power adapter, and basic documentation. A carrying case and dock are not included, so budget for those if you want them.
When is it cheapest?
Handhelds like this usually drop during Black Friday and back-to-school sales. At $599.99 across 7 stores as of November 4, 2026, there is no current discount to chase.
Where is the Asus ROG Xbox Ally Gaming Handheld 7" 120Hz Touchscreen cheapest?
At Best Buy, for $599.99, 19% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
