Is the RTX 5090 worth it over the RTX 4090?

For 4K with ray tracing and for AI work that needs 32 GB of VRAM, yes. If you game at 1440p, the 4090 or a 5080-class card is far better value.

What power supply do I need?

ASUS recommends a 1000 W PSU. The card uses one 16-pin connector, so use a native ATX 3.x cable or the included adapter and seat it fully.

It is a full-height, full-length card, so check your case's GPU clearance and PSU shroud space before buying. A mid-tower with front airflow is the minimum.

Does it work with PCIe 4.0 motherboards?

Yes. It runs on PCIe 5.0 but is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 x16, with a small bandwidth loss that rarely matters in games.

When is the best time to buy?

Prices on flagship cards swing with stock. The best new price was $7,199.00 at eBay as of November 4, 2026; watch for restocks that bring it closer to MSRP.

Our take on the ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5090 OC

The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5090 OC is a factory-overclocked flagship graphics card built for 4K and 8K gaming, VR and heavy GPU compute. It pairs 32 GB of GDDR7 on a 512-bit bus with PCIe 5.0 and a triple-fan TUF cooler, and it draws hundreds of watts, so ASUS recommends a 1000 W power supply and a single 16-pin connector. At $7,199.00 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, the best new price sits far above the card's launch pricing, so buyers are paying a steep premium over its recent range.
