Is this mat big enough for a full driver swing?

It is 1' x 2', so it suits chips and short irons best. For full driver swings, position the ball toward the center and expect a tight stance.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes, the rubber base grips hard floors, but a real ball will bounce off walls. Foam or plastic balls are safer indoors.

Does it come with a tee?

No tee is listed. The mat is the mat only; you supply your own tees and balls.

How does it compare with a full-size range mat?

It is far smaller and thinner, so it is best for portable practice rather than daily full-swing work.

When is the best time to buy?

At $29.97 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it is already near the low end of its range. Watch for seasonal golf sales in spring.

Our take on the Athletic Works Dual Surface Practice Mat

The Athletic Works Dual Surface Practice Mat is a 1' x 2' golf hitting mat with two synthetic turf heights: a shorter surface for fairway and tee work and a longer one to mimic the rough. A rubber non-slip base holds it in place, and at 4.2 lb it is light enough to carry to the yard or range. At $29.97 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, and only two stores list it new.
