Is the AT-LP3XBT worth it over a cheaper turntable?

Yes if you want Bluetooth and a built-in preamp in one box. Cheaper decks usually skip one or both, and you would pay extra for a separate phono stage or wireless transmitter.

Does it work with Sonos or other Bluetooth speakers?

Yes. It pairs over Bluetooth like any phone, so it works with Bluetooth speakers, soundbars and headphones. For Sonos you can also use the RCA output into a line-in.

The turntable, a felt mat, a dust cover, an AT-VM95C cartridge pre-mounted on the tonearm, a 45 rpm adapter and RCA cables. A phono preamp is built in, so no separate box is needed.

Can I use it with a receiver that has a phono input?

Yes. Switch the built-in preamp off and connect the RCA cables to the receiver's phono input. Leave it on for line or aux inputs.

Does it play 78 rpm records?

No. It plays 33 and 45 rpm only, so 78s need a different deck and stylus.

Vinyl gear tends to dip during Black Friday and holiday sales, and Audio-Technica decks also drop when a new model replaces them. Watch the price history rather than buying at full list.

Our take on the Audio-Technica LP3XBT

The Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT-WH is a belt-drive turntable with a built-in phono preamp and Bluetooth output, so it can feed powered speakers, a stereo receiver or a wireless speaker without extra gear. It ships with an AT-VM95C cartridge and a felt mat, and the tonearm offers adjustable tracking force and anti-skate. The white plastic plinth keeps it light for its class, though the 28 lb listed weight is heavier than most entry decks. It is a mid-tier automatic-style deck aimed at people moving up from a suitcase player.
