- Is the Aura Aspen worth $229?
- At $229 it is priced at the top of the digital frame market. You pay for the 12-inch 1600x1200 screen, touch controls and video playback. If you only want still photos, a smaller frame does the job for less.
- How is it different from the smaller Aura frames?
- The Aspen is the 12-inch model, so it shows larger prints and video more comfortably than 10-inch frames. The resolution stays at 1600x1200, which is sharp at this size.
- Does it need Wi-Fi to work?
- Yes. Photos and video arrive over Wi-Fi through the Aura app, so the frame needs a network connection and a setup account. There is no card slot listed for offline loading.
- Can it play video with sound?
- Yes. The frame supports video and audio, so short clips play with sound. Keep volume in mind if it sits in a shared room.
- What colors and finishes are available?
- Listings show blue, black and multicolor, with clay, ink, brushed carbon and brushed sandstone finishes. The frame body is listed as paper material.
- When is the best time to buy?
- The best new price was $229 at Aura Frames as of November 7, 2026. Frames like this often drop around Black Friday and Mother's Day, so check the price history before buying.
