Our take on the Aurzen ZIP Tri-Fold Portable Projector

The Aurzen ZIP is a tri-fold DLP pico projector that folds into a Z shape and weighs little enough to carry in a pocket. It runs a 5000mAh battery for up to 1.5 hours, recharges to 80% in about 50 minutes over 24W USB-C PD, and does zero-lag ToF autofocus plus auto horizontal keystone. Brightness is only 100 lumens, so it needs a dark room. Its price has held at $199.99 at Distritech as of October 28, 2026, the only price on record so far.

Questions and answers

Is the Aurzen ZIP worth $199.99?
If portability is the priority, yes. At $199.99 at Distritech as of October 28, 2026, you pay for the foldable design, battery and autofocus rather than brightness. For a bright living-room picture, a larger plug-in projector is a better buy.
How bright is it, and can I use it in daylight?
It is rated at 100 lumens, which is dim. It works best in a dark or low-light room; in daylight the image will look washed out.
Does it work with Netflix or Disney+?
DRM-protected apps like Netflix and Disney+ may need a separate streaming accessory. Mirroring from a phone works for unprotected content, but check DRM playback before relying on it.
Can I cast from a Pixel or Chromebook?
No. It does not support Google Cast devices such as Pixel and Motorola phones or Chromebooks. Use the built-in no-Wi-Fi mirroring path instead where your device supports it.
How long does the battery last and how fast does it charge?
The 5000mAh battery gives up to 1.5 hours of viewing, roughly one short film. With 24W USB-C PD it recharges to 80% in about 50 minutes.
What is in the box?
The projector, a USB-C charging cable and a user manual. There is no remote, tripod or streaming stick included.
