Our take on the Autel - IM508S + Xhorse XP-005 Dolphin + Key Tool Max Pro + XP400 Pro - Automotive Programming Bundle

This is a four-piece locksmith and auto-shop kit: the Autel MaxiIM IM508S tablet, the Xhorse Condor XC Dolphin XP-005 portable key cutter, the VVDI Key Tool Max Pro, and the Autel XP400 Pro programmer. The IM508S handles immobilizer and OBDII diagnostics on a 7-inch touchscreen with guided Smart Mode and bidirectional control; the XP400 Pro adds EEPROM and ECU-level key work. The bundle's best new price is $1,599.00 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That is a steep outlay, so it only pays off for someone cutting and programming keys regularly rather than one car owner.

Best forLocksmiths and key-cutting shopsMobile auto locksmiths who cut keys on siteIndependent shops doing immobilizer and ECU workBuyers who want the cutter, programmer and tablet in one purchase
Pros
  • Covers key cutting, key programming and diagnostics in one kit
  • IM508S has guided Smart Mode and bidirectional control
  • Dolphin XP-005 runs on a battery, so it works away from a bench
  • XP400 Pro adds EEPROM and ECU programming the tablet alone can't do
  • Key Tool Max Pro has OBD and CANFD modules built in
Cons
  • $1,599.00 is a large upfront cost for occasional use
  • Four devices means four learning curves and separate update subscriptions
  • The IM508S is an older-generation tablet next to Autel's IM608 line
  • No vehicle coverage list is stated, so confirm your models before buying
  • Heavy kit to carry: the tablet alone is 788 g and the cutter adds more

Questions and answers

Is this bundle worth it over buying the pieces separately?
If you need all four tools, the bundle at $1,599.00 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026 saves you shopping each item. If you only program keys and never cut them, buy the IM508S and XP400 Pro alone and skip the Dolphin cutter.
Does the IM508S work on my car?
The IM508S covers a wide range of makes for immobilizer and OBDII work, but coverage varies by year and model. Check Autel's vehicle coverage list for your exact car before buying, and note that some brands need the XP400 Pro for EEPROM or ECU jobs.
Do I need the XP400 Pro if I already have the IM508S?
Yes for advanced work. The IM508S handles many keys through OBD, but the XP400 Pro adds EEPROM reading and ECU-level programming for jobs the tablet can't finish alone.
Can the Dolphin XP-005 cut keys without a power outlet?
Yes. The XP-005 has an internal battery, so you can cut keys at a customer's location. It is a portable high-security cutter, not a full shop machine, so check it supports your key blank types.
What is included in the box?
You get the Autel MaxiIM IM508S tablet, the Xhorse Condor XC Dolphin XP-005 cutter with battery, the VVDI Key Tool Max Pro, and the Autel XP400 Pro programmer. Cables, blanks and clamps vary by listing, so confirm contents with the seller.
When is this bundle cheapest?
The best new price seen is $1,599.00 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026. Tool bundles like this tend to dip during holiday sales and shop-supply promotions, so watch the price history before buying.
Where is the Autel - IM508S + Xhorse XP-005 Dolphin + Key Tool Max Pro + XP400 Pro - Automotive Programming Bundle cheapest?
At Amazon, for $1,599.00, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Autel - IM508S + Xhorse XP-005 Dolphin + Key Tool Max Pro + XP400 Pro - Automotive Programming Bundle?
