Our take on the Avid Power Brushless Cordless Drill Set with 2 Batteries

The Avid Power Brushless Cordless Drill Set is a 20V cordless drill with a brushless motor, a 3/8-inch keyless chuck, and two batteries in the box. The brushless motor should give longer runtime and motor life than a brushed drill at this price. At $43.99 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a two-battery brushless kit usually costs.

Pros
  • Brushless motor for longer runtime and life
  • Two batteries included, so one can charge while you work
  • 3/8-inch keyless chuck takes common bits without a key
  • 20V platform is enough for light drilling and driving
  • Low price for a brushless two-battery kit
Cons
  • 3/8-inch chuck limits larger drill bits
  • No torque or clutch figures published, so precision driving is a gamble
  • Avid Power has a smaller tool and battery ecosystem than major brands
  • Not built for heavy continuous use or masonry

Questions and answers

Is the Avid Power brushless drill worth it at $43.99?
For light home jobs, yes. A brushless motor and two batteries at $43.99 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026 is a low price, but expect less refinement than a major-brand drill.
What comes in the box?
The set includes the drill, two 20V batteries, and a charger. Check the listing for any bits or a case before you buy.
Can it handle drilling into walls or masonry?
It is a general-purpose drill for wood, drywall, and light metal. It is not a hammer drill, so masonry needs a separate tool.
What size bits does the chuck take?
The 3/8-inch keyless chuck takes bits up to 3/8 inch shank. Larger bits and hole saws need a 1/2-inch chuck drill.
When is the best time to buy it?
Cordless drill kits drop most around Black Friday and spring home-improvement sales. At $43.99 it is already near the bottom of the range, so waiting may save little.
Where is the Avid Power Brushless Cordless Drill Set with 2 Batteries cheapest?
At Lowe's, for $43.99, as of our latest check.
