Our take on the Barronett Insight See-Through Hub Blind

The Barronett Insight is a 5-hub ground blind with see-through mesh windows that give a 270-degree view while keeping you hidden. It measures 71 inches wide, 55 inches deep and 68 inches tall, weighs 14 lb, and sets up fast with a hub frame. It comes with a carry bag, ground stakes, tie-down ropes and brush loops, plus detachable blaze orange panels for gun season. At $143.90 at The Home Depot as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the 3 stores that price it new.

Pros
  • See-through mesh lets you watch game without opening windows
  • 270-degree panoramic windows cover most angles
  • 71-inch shooting width fits two hunters and gear
  • 14 lb with a carry bag is manageable on foot
  • Blaze orange panels detach for gun-season safety
  • Stakes, tie-downs and brush loops included
Cons
  • No skirt, so gaps at the base need brushing in
  • Water-resistant, not waterproof; seams can leak in heavy rain
  • 14 lb is heavier than pop-up blinds around 10 lb
  • See-through mesh cuts light and can blur detail in low light
  • Blaze panels are not a substitute for wearing orange

Questions and answers

Is the see-through mesh worth it compared to a standard blind?
Yes, if you hunt pressured areas. The mesh lets you move and glass game without silhouetting yourself, and the 270-degree windows mean fewer blind spots. In very low light the mesh does dim the view, so some hunters open a window at dawn and dusk.
How does the Insight compare to Barronett's Big Cat or Ox blinds?
The Insight is the see-through model, while the Big Cat and Ox use standard fabric windows. The Insight is lighter and easier to carry than the largest Barronett blinds but gives up some interior height and floor space.
Can two hunters fit inside?
Yes. The 71-inch shooting width and 55-inch depth give room for two adults with bows or rifles, though a second chair and pack eat into that space. Height is 68 inches, so most hunters can stand hunched but not fully upright.
Does it come with a floor and skirt?
No floor and no skirt are included. You get the blind, carry bag, ground stakes, tie-down ropes and brush loops. Plan to bank brush or dirt around the base to seal light gaps.
Is it waterproof enough for an all-day sit in rain?
It is water-resistant, not waterproof. Light rain is fine, but steady rain can wick through seams and around window edges. A seam sealer or a tarp over the roof helps on wet forecasts.
When is the price lowest?
Ground blinds tend to discount in late summer and again after the season opens in fall. At $143.90 at The Home Depot as of November 5, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting may not save much.
Where is the Barronett Insight See-Through Hub Blind cheapest?
At The Home Depot, for $143.90, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Barronett Insight See-Through Hub Blind?
3 stores we checked sell it, including The Home Depot, Barronett Blinds, eBay.
