Is Arkham City worth buying in 2026?

Yes, if you want a tight 12-15 hour action game with strong combat and story. The $9.99 disc at Tyton Games as of November 4, 2026 is a low price for it.

Do I need to play Arkham Asylum first?

Not strictly, but the story picks up after it and references its events. Playing Asylum first makes the opening clearer.

What is the difference between this disc and the Return to Arkham version?

This is the original Xbox 360 release. Return to Arkham is a remaster bundle of Asylum and City for PS4 and Xbox One with updated visuals.

Does it have multiplayer?

No. Arkham City is single-player only, with no co-op or online modes.

What's included in the standard edition disc?

The base game and its single-player campaign, including the Catwoman chapters. Bonus skins and challenge maps came as pre-order or DLC extras and may not be on the disc.

Used and budget copies of the Xbox 360 disc regularly sell for under $10. The $9.99 at Tyton Games as of November 4, 2026 is already near the floor for a new copy.

Our take on the Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham City is Rocksteady's 2011 open-world action game, set in a walled-off section of Gotham where Batman fights Joker, Penguin, Two-Face and Hugo Strange. It expands the freeflow combat and predator stealth of Arkham Asylum across a much larger map and adds Catwoman chapters. The Xbox 360 disc is the original version; later ports on PS4, Xbox One and Switch bundle the remaster. At $9.99 at Tyton Games as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this game has sold for recently.
