Is 300 ft-lb enough for lug nuts?

Yes for most cars and light trucks, whose lug nuts are typically torqued to 80–150 ft-lb. It may not break loose nuts that were over-torqued or rusted, so keep a breaker bar handy.

Does it come with a battery?

BAUER cordless tools are commonly sold as bare tools, with batteries and chargers sold separately. Check the listing before buying if you do not already own BAUER 20V packs.

What sockets does it take?

It uses standard 1/2-inch drive impact sockets. Use impact-rated sockets, not chrome hand sockets, which can crack under impact load.

How does it compare with a brushed impact wrench?

The brushless motor delivers more runtime per charge and lasts longer, and the three speeds give better control on smaller fasteners. Brushed versions are cheaper but less efficient.

Can it remove crank bolts or axle nuts?

Usually not. Those fasteners often need 200–400+ ft-lb, and a 300 ft-lb wrench may fall short, especially on rusted hardware.

When is the best time to buy?

BAUER tools frequently go on sale around major holidays and store events. Watch the price history to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the BAUER 20V Brushless Cordless 3-Speed Impact Wrench

The BAUER 20V Brushless 3-Speed Impact Wrench is a cordless 1/2-inch drive tool rated at 300 ft-lb of torque, aimed at tire changes and mid-duty automotive work. The brushless motor and three speed settings help it run cooler and give finer control than a single-speed brushed wrench. At 2.7 lb it is light enough to use overhead or under a dash without fatigue. It sits in the value tier of cordless impact wrenches, well below pro-brand prices for similar torque.
