How do I pick the right size?

Measure the ankle circumference at the narrowest point above the ankle bone. Size 2 covers 19-21 cm; go up a size if you are at the top of a range.

Is this for the left or right foot?

This listing is the right-foot version. The brace is anatomically shaped, so the left version is a separate product.

Can I wear it in shoes?

Yes. The soft knit is designed to fit inside most athletic and casual shoes. Very tight or low-cut shoes may not accommodate the straps.

Is it as supportive as a rigid brace?

No. It is for mild instability and mild sprains. For a severe sprain or post-surgery immobilization, a rigid brace or walking boot is the appropriate choice.

Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent, rinse well and air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Prices vary by store and season; compare current listings and check the price history before buying, since medical braces rarely see deep discounts.

Our take on the Bauerfeind MalleoTrain S Ankle Brace, Right Foot, Size 2

The MalleoTrain S is Bauerfeind's soft-knit ankle brace for mild instability, sprains and post-injury support. It uses a figure-8 strap system and a breathable Train Active Knit with reduced edge pressure, and it is sold in six sizes by ankle circumference, with a left and right version. Size 2 fits an ankle circumference of 19-21 cm. It is a low-profile brace meant for wearing in a shoe during activity, not a rigid immobilizer.
