Questions and answers

Is the BE4700ID worth it?
At $1,267.50 at Blue Collar Planet as of November 3, 2026, it is priced near the bottom of the dual-fuel inverter class. You get inverter power, electric start and a CO shutoff for less than most 4,000-watt rivals.
How loud is it?
BE rates it at 63 dB at 7 meters, which is about the level of a normal conversation. Eco mode lowers the engine speed and noise further when loads are light.
How long will it run on a tank?
The 5.8 L tank is small, so expect several hours at half load and less at full output. Propane runs longer per pound of fuel but delivers slightly lower wattage.
Can it run an RV air conditioner?
A single 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner usually needs about 2,800 to 3,500 starting watts, which is within the 4,700 peak rating. The L5-30R outlet plugs straight into a standard 30A RV cord.
What comes in the box?
Expect the generator, a tool kit, a funnel and the owner's manual. Propane hose and regulator are commonly included on dual-fuel models, but confirm with the store before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Generator prices tend to dip in late fall and winter, outside storm season. Track the price history here and buy when it drops below the current $1,267.50.
