Is the Beam Side Table worth it?

If you want a designer side table in solid upcycled oak that needs no assembly, yes. If you mainly need a large surface for lamps or trays, its 24 cm top is limiting.

How does it compare with a standard C-table?

Most C-tables are hollow metal or MDF. This one uses a solid antique oak beam, which is heavier and pricier but far more substantial.

Will it fit over my sofa arm?

The offset open base is made for this, but check your arm height against the 65 cm overall height and the base clearance before ordering.

What is the top made of?

A painted metal top on a solid oak beam base. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners that dull the paint.

Does it come in different colors?

Yes: Natural, Espresso, Grey and Walnut. Each is a protective finish over the oak, so grain and tone vary from piece to piece.

When is the best time to buy?

Designer furniture like this rarely gets deep discounts. Watch for seasonal sales at authorized Mogg dealers and compare across stores.

Our take on the Beam Side Table

The Beam Side Table is a C-shaped side table by designer Damien Gernay for Mogg, built from a 100% upcycled antique oak beam with a painted metal top. It stands 65 cm tall with a 24 cm diameter top and an offset open base, so the top can slide over a sofa or bed arm. It ships fully assembled and comes in Natural, Espresso, Grey and Walnut.
