Questions and answers

Is the plush top too soft for back sleepers?
Plush is the softest of the Black Series feels. Back sleepers under about 200 lbs often find it supportive enough, but heavier back sleepers may prefer the medium or firm versions.
Do I need the box spring?
Only if your bed frame needs one or you want extra height. On an adjustable base or slatted platform, buy the mattress alone and save money.
What sheets fit a 15.25-inch mattress plus box spring?
Look for deep-pocket sheets rated for 16 to 18 inches, since the box spring adds several inches on top of the mattress.
How does it compare to the Black Series Three?
The Series Three adds a thicker comfort layer and more coils, so it feels plusher and costs more. The Series Two is the softer entry point to the Black line.
When is it cheapest?
Beautyrest Black mattresses typically drop during Memorial Day, Labor Day and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
