Our take on the Belva BMV712 7" Double DIN Touchscreen Mechless Car Stereo Receiver w/ Bluetooth and Phone Mirroring

The Belva BMV712 is a 7-inch double DIN mechless receiver with Bluetooth, USB and RCA preamp outputs. It has no CD drive, so it is shallow and light, and it supports phone mirroring for iPhone and Android. The 7-inch TFT-LCD touchscreen is the main draw at this price level. It is a budget head unit, so expect basic audio tuning rather than a premium sound processor.

Questions and answers

Is the Belva BMV712 worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a big touchscreen and Bluetooth on a tight budget. If you need CarPlay, Android Auto or clean preamp voltage for a big system, spend more.
Does it work with both iPhone and Android?
Yes. Bluetooth works with both, and the mirroring feature is listed for iPhone and Android devices. Mirroring behavior varies by phone model, so check your phone's casting support first.
Do I need a wiring harness to install it?
It is a universal double DIN unit, so you will usually need a vehicle-specific dash kit and wiring harness. Check your car's dash opening and factory amplifier before buying.
Can I add an amplifier?
Yes, but there is only one set of 2V preamp outputs. That is low voltage for big amps, so keep aftermarket amplification modest or add a line driver.
What comes in the box?
The receiver and a wireless remote control are included. Mounting hardware and wiring adapters for your specific car are generally not.
When is it cheapest?
Budget head units like this tend to drop during holiday sales and car audio promotions. Watch the price history rather than buying on impulse.
