Is this a real guitar my child can learn on?

No. It is a toy with 8 note buttons and a speaker, not a stringed instrument. For learning, buy a small acoustic or a real starter electric.

It suits toddlers and young children, roughly ages 2 to 6. Older kids will likely find the buttons limiting.

What comes in the box?

The guitar, a microphone, a stand and a media cord. The cord lets you play audio from a smartphone or MP3 player through the guitar.

Yes, it runs on batteries to power the speaker and lights. Check the listing for the battery size before buying.

It is at the low end of its recent range, and 6 stores list it new. That makes it a fair buy if you want a cheap toy rather than a durable one.
