Our take on the Betsy Ann 4 Piece American Truffle Chocolates Gift Set

This is a 4-piece box of milk chocolate truffles and bonbons from Betsy Ann, a small American chocolatier. The set weighs 4.5 ounces, so it is a small gift or a personal treat rather than a shareable box. Four pieces is modest for the price of a gift set, so compare it with larger truffle boxes before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Betsy Ann 4-piece set worth it?
It works as a small gift or a personal treat, but four pieces is little for the money. If you need a bigger impression, a larger truffle box is a better value.
What is in the box?
Four milk chocolate truffles and bonbons in a 4.5-ounce box. The exact flavors inside are not listed, so check the box or the maker's site if you need to avoid a filling.
Is it milk chocolate or dark chocolate?
Milk chocolate only. Shoppers who want dark chocolate or a mixed assortment should look at other Betsy Ann sets.
How big is the box?
It holds 4.5 ounces total, roughly four pieces. That is about the size of a small gift box, not a family-sized assortment.
Does it need to be refrigerated?
Store it cool and dry, away from heat and sunlight. Refrigerate only in hot weather, and let it come to room temperature before eating so the chocolate does not bloom.
When is it cheapest?
Chocolate gift sets usually drop around Valentine's Day, Easter and the winter holidays. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
