Is the Black+Decker 40V blower/vac worth it?

For small yards and light, dry leaves, yes. It blows and vacuums with one battery and charger included at $179.99 at Verdi.com as of November 4, 2026. For large lots or wet leaves, a corded or higher-CFM blower does more work.

How long does the battery last?

Black+Decker rates runtime at about 18 minutes on the included 1.5 Ah 40V battery. Recharge takes about 30 minutes. Expect less time in vacuum mode, which draws more power.

Does it really mulch leaves?

Yes. The vacuum kit mulches at a 6:1 ratio, so six bags of leaves become roughly one. It works best on dry leaves; wet leaves clog the impeller.

The blower/vacuum unit, a 40V 1.5 Ah lithium-ion battery, a charger, and the vacuum kit with collection bag. No extra nozzle is listed beyond the vacuum kit.

How does it compare with a corded blower?

Corded blowers usually deliver more CFM and run without a battery limit, but you drag a cord. This combo trades airflow and runtime for cordless convenience and vacuum capability.

Leaf blowers typically drop in price in late fall clearance and around spring yard-care sales. Track the price history here rather than assuming the current $179.99 is the low.

Our take on the Black+Decker 40V Blower/Vac Combo

A cordless handheld leaf blower that converts to a vacuum with a 6:1 mulching kit, powered by a 40V 1.5 Ah lithium-ion battery. It moves 90 CFM at up to 120 MPH with variable speed, and Black+Decker rates runtime at about 18 minutes with a 30-minute recharge. The best new price is $179.99 at Verdi.com as of November 4, 2026, with 4 stores listing it new. That is a modest kit price for a blower-plus-vacuum combo, though the small battery limits long jobs.
