Our take on the Blendtec 40-611-60 Frothing Jar

The Blendtec 40-611-60 Frothing Jar is a clear, square-shaped 2-liter jar with a stainless steel frothing blade, sold as an add-on for any Blendtec blender. The blade is shaped to pull air into liquids, so it whips milk and cream into foam rather than just blending them. It fits all Blendtec models and is dishwasher safe. At $117.02 at Espresso Parts as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Frothing blade aerates milk and cream for thick foam
  • Fits every Blendtec blender model
  • Same 2-liter square footprint as the FourSide jar
  • Stainless steel blade and BPA-free jar
  • Dishwasher safe
Cons
  • Costs about as much as a full blender jar for one job
  • 2 liters is more capacity than most home frothing needs
  • Not a substitute for a steam wand on textured milk drinks
  • Only one store lists a new price, so little price competition

Owners of Blendtec frothing jars generally report thick, stable foam from cold milk and praise the fit on older and newer machines. Complaints center on the price for a single-purpose jar and on foam that is looser than a steam wand's.

  • Fits all Blendtec bases without adapters
  • Easy to clean in the dishwasher
Cons
  • Expensive for a dedicated frothing jar

Questions and answers

Is the frothing jar worth it over my regular Blendtec jar?
If you make lattes, cappuccinos or foamed milk drinks often, yes. The frothing blade pulls in air that a standard FourSide jar does not, so you get foam instead of just blended milk. For occasional use, a handheld frother costs far less.
Will it fit my Blendtec blender?
Yes. Blendtec lists it as compatible with all Blendtec blender models, and it uses the same square jar shape and base fit as the FourSide jar.
Can I use it for smoothies or soups?
It is built for frothing and aerating liquids, not heavy blending. Use a standard jar for smoothies, soups and crushing ice.
Is the jar dishwasher safe?
Yes. The jar and stainless steel blade are dishwasher safe, and the jar is BPA-free.
How much milk can it froth at once?
The jar holds 2 liters total, but you should fill it well below the top for frothing so the foam has room to expand. It handles several servings of milk at a time.
When is the best time to buy it?
Only one store, Espresso Parts, lists a new price, $117.02 as of November 3, 2026, so there is little to compare. Watch for bundle deals with Blendtec blenders, which often cut the jar's effective cost.
Where is the Blendtec 40-611-60 Frothing Jar cheapest?
