Is this a blackout shade?

No. Blindster calls it room darkening, which blocks most light but not all. Expect some light at the edges, especially on an inside mount.

Why is the fabric narrower than my window?

The fabric portion is about 1 1/2 inches narrower than the ordered width to clear the mounting hardware. For an inside mount, order the exact window width and expect a small side gap.

Cordless or chain lift?
