Is lab-created alexandrite a real gemstone?

It is a real alexandrite in crystal structure, grown in a lab rather than mined. It shows the same color-change behavior but costs far less than natural alexandrite.

Does this pendant change color?

Lab-created alexandrite shifts between greenish-blue in daylight and purplish-red under incandescent light. The effect is strongest in bright daylight and warm indoor bulbs.

What chain comes with it?

It comes with an 18-inch 10k yellow gold rope chain. The pendant is a solitaire setting with one oval stone.

Is 10k gold good for a pendant?

10k gold is 41.7% gold, so it is harder and more scratch-resistant than 14k or 18k. It looks slightly less yellow, which some shoppers notice next to higher-karat pieces.

When is the best time to buy it?

Its recent low was $229.49 on October 28, 2026, against a high of $269.99 on October 30, 2026. Buying near the low end of that range is the better deal.
