Our take on the Bungalow Rose Dostie 100 Performance Oriental Rug

The Bungalow Rose Dostie is a 5-by-3-foot machine-woven Oriental rug in polypropylene with a jute backing. Its 0.43-inch pile and stain-resistant, pet-friendly face suit entryways, kitchens and other high-traffic spots. It is a small accent rug, not a room-size piece, so check your space before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this rug good for a living room?
Only if the room is small. At 5 by 3 feet it works as an accent in front of a door or under a small table, not as a main seating-area rug.
Can I put it in a high-traffic hallway?
Yes. The polypropylene pile is stain resistant and rated for high-traffic areas, and the jute backing helps it stay put.
How do I clean it?
Vacuum regularly and blot spills right away. The care guidance recommends professional or dry cleaning for deeper cleaning.
Is it safe for pets?
It is marketed as pet friendly, and the synthetic pile resists stains and is easy to wipe. Loose ends can still be chewed, so watch puppies.
Does it need a rug pad?
A pad is optional but helps on hard floors. It adds grip, cushioning and keeps the jute backing from scuffing wood.
When is the best time to buy?
Rug prices often dip during seasonal home sales and holiday promotions. Check the price history before buying.
