Our take on the Callaway Golf FT Launch Zone Hitting Mat

The Callaway FT Launch Zone Hitting Mat is a small rubber practice mat, 12 by 24 inches, for hitting irons off a turf-like surface indoors or in the yard. It is compact enough to roll out in a garage or on a patio and is aimed at swing and ball-striking practice rather than putting. At $34.98 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros

Small 12 x 24 inch footprint fits tight spaces
Rubber base stays put on hard floors
Turf surface lets you hit down and through the ball
Low cost for a branded practice mat
Rolls up for storage and travel

Cons

Too short for full-swing driver or wood practice
Thin mat gives less cushioning than a full stance mat
No alignment markings or stance area
Only one store lists a new price, so comparison is limited

Questions and answers

Is this mat big enough for a full swing?: At 12 by 24 inches it covers the ball and clubhead area, not a full stance. It suits iron and wedge strikes; for driver work you would want a wider stance mat.
Can I use it on carpet or a hard floor?: The rubber base is meant to grip flat surfaces, so carpet, concrete and garage floors work. Check that it sits flat before swinging.
Does it come with a ball or tees?: The listing describes a single mat only. Balls and tees are sold separately.
Is it a putting mat?: It is listed as a putting mat, but its size and turf surface make it more useful for hitting short irons and wedges than for rolling putts.
Is $34.98 a good price?: Only one store lists a new price as of November 8, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare it with similar small rubber mats before buying.
Where is the Callaway Golf FT Launch Zone Hitting Mat cheapest?: At Walmart, for $34.98, as of our latest check.
