Our take on the Capresso Grind Select Burr Coffee Grinder

The Capresso Grind Select is a compact electric burr grinder with 15 grind settings, from fine espresso to coarse French press. A dial lets you pick the cup count and it grinds that dose into a removable 5-oz container, so grounds don't sit in the burrs. Solid steel burrs and a 10-oz hopper keep it simple, and it takes up little counter space at 7.25 by 5.5 inches. At $49.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range and is a cheap way into burr grinding.

Best forBudget buyers moving up from a blade grinderDrip and pour-over drinkers who grind by the potSmall kitchens with limited counter spaceAnyone who wants to grind a set dose and store it
Pros
  • Burr grinding at a price close to blade grinders
  • 15 settings cover drip, pour-over, French press and fine grinds
  • Cup-count dial grinds a measured dose, not a guess
  • Grounds drop into a removable 5-oz container
  • Compact footprint and integrated cord storage
  • Solid steel burrs rather than plastic
Cons
  • Not a true espresso grinder; fine settings are limited for dialing in
  • Grind time varies with setting and bean, so it is not instant
  • Hopper holds 10 oz, so refills are frequent for heavy drinkers
  • Timer and cup dial are less precise than a digital scale-based grinder
  • Plastic body and light 3-lb build feel basic

Questions and answers

Is the Capresso Grind Select worth it at $49.99?
At $49.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheapest real burr grinders you can buy. If you brew drip or pour-over and want better consistency than a blade grinder, it is worth it. Skip it if you need espresso-grade fine control.
Can it grind fine enough for espresso?
It reaches a fine setting, but the 15-step dial gives coarse steps and little room to dial in a shot. It works better for drip, pour-over, Aeropress and French press.
How many cups can it grind at once?
The cup selector grinds a set dose into the 5-oz ground container, roughly enough for a full pot of drip coffee. The hopper holds 10 oz of beans.
How does it compare with the Capresso Infinity?
The Infinity has conical burrs and more settings at a higher price. The Grind Select is smaller, cheaper and simpler, with flat steel burrs and a cup dial. Choose the Infinity for finer control, the Grind Select for budget and counter space.
What comes in the box?
The grinder, a removable 5-oz ground coffee container and lid, and the hopper lid. Beans are not included.
When is it cheapest?
It has been selling near $50 at Target as of November 4, 2026, which is the low end of its recent range. Watch for holiday sales, when small kitchen appliances usually drop further.
Where is the Capresso Grind Select Burr Coffee Grinder cheapest?
At Target, for $49.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Capresso Grind Select Burr Coffee Grinder?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 80 ratings.
