Is the Chicco Alfa Lite good for newborns?

Not really. It has no bassinet insert, so the sleeping surface sits low. It suits infants who can lie flat but is better for babies around 6 months and up.

How much does the Chicco Alfa Lite weigh?

13 lbs assembled. That is light enough to carry with one hand and makes it one of the lighter full-size playards.

What are the inside dimensions?

The sleeping surface is 38 inches long by 23.5 inches wide, inside a 43 x 29 x 25 inch frame. Standard playard sheets fit.

Does it come with a mattress?

Yes, a mattress is included. It is thin, so some parents add a fitted pad or extra sheet for comfort.

Is $99 a good price for the Alfa Lite?

Yes. $99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026 is at the low end of what this playard has sold for; it has often been priced $130 or more.

How long can a child use it?

Chicco rates it up to 36 months. The 25-inch height means tall toddlers may outgrow it sooner.
