Is the Columbia 9-Function Multi-Tool worth it?

For light camping tasks like opening bottles and cans or light wire cutting, it covers the basics in a small clip-on package. With only 10 ratings at 3.7 out of 5, treat it as a budget backup rather than a primary tool.

How does it compare with a Leatherman or Gerber?

Full-size Leatherman and Gerber tools offer more functions, locking blades and stronger pliers, usually at higher prices. The Columbia tool is lighter and clips on with its carabiner, but its pliers and cutters are for light duty only.

What is included in the box?

The tool itself with its integrated carabiner clip. No sheath, bits or accessories are listed.

Is it good for hiking and backpacking?

Yes, for simple jobs. The aluminum and stainless steel build keeps it light, and the carabiner clips to a pack strap so it stays accessible.

When is the best time to buy it?

Camping gear tends to be discounted in late summer and around Black Friday. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the Columbia 9-Function Multi-Tool With Carabiner

The Columbia 9-Function Multi-Tool is a compact stainless steel and aluminum pocket tool with pliers, a wire cutter, bottle and can openers, and a built-in carabiner clip for hanging it off a pack or belt loop. It is aimed at campers who want a light, inexpensive tool for small jobs rather than a heavy-duty workshop multi-tool. It has a modest 3.7 out of 5 from 10 ratings, so owner feedback is limited and mixed. No current store price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.
