Our take on the ComfyGo MAJESTIC IQ-8000 Remote Controlled Lightweight Electric Wheelchair

The ComfyGo Majestic IQ-8000 is a folding power wheelchair with a 360-degree joystick and a remote control that works from up to 30 feet away, so a caregiver can drive it for the rider. It carries up to 286 lbs on a 20-inch memory foam seat and is built for travel and everyday outdoor use, including grass. At $1,899 at DME Superstore as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is the IQ-8000 worth it?
If you need a caregiver remote and a wide seat, it covers both at $1,899. If you load a chair into a car alone, its 52.9 lb weight is a real drawback.
How does the remote control work?
A caregiver can drive the chair from up to 30 feet away while the rider uses the 360-degree joystick or rides along. It is meant for assistance, not for use on roads with traffic.
Can the seat be adjusted?
The 20-inch memory foam seat is fixed. The backrest does not recline, its height is not adjustable, and the armrests do not raise.
How much does it weigh and what does it carry?
The IQ-8000 Plus weighs 52.9 lbs and supports up to 286 lbs.
Is it good outdoors?
It is rated for grass and everyday outdoor surfaces, and the shock absorption design helps. The 8-inch front wheels are small, so deep gravel or curbs will be difficult.
When is the best time to buy?
Only one store lists a new price, $1,899 at DME Superstore as of November 7, 2026, so there is little room to compare. Check the price history before buying.
Where is the ComfyGo MAJESTIC IQ-8000 Remote Controlled Lightweight Electric Wheelchair cheapest?
