Is the Corelle Splendor set worth it?

For everyday use it is a solid value: light, stackable, chip-resistant and safe in the dishwasher and microwave. Skip it if you want heavy stoneware or oven-to-broiler pieces.

How does Corelle Vitrelle differ from regular ceramic?

Vitrelle is a triple-layer laminated glass, made with up to 80% recycled glass, that is thinner and lighter than ceramic and more resistant to chips. It is not unbreakable and can shatter if dropped.

Can these plates go in the oven?

Yes, up to 350 F. Do not use them under a broiler or on a stovetop burner.

What is included in the 12-piece set?

Four 10.25-inch dinner plates, four 6.75-inch appetizer plates and four 18-ounce soup/cereal bowls. Mugs are not included.

How much do the bowls hold?

Each soup/cereal bowl holds 18 ounces, enough for cereal, soup or a side salad.

When is the best time to buy it?

Corelle sets are discounted most around Black Friday, back-to-school and wedding-registry season. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
