Is the Gibson Home Rockaway set microwave safe?

Yes. The stoneware pieces are listed as microwave safe and dishwasher safe.

How many people does the 12-piece set serve?

Four. You get four large plates, four small plates and four bowls, with no mugs or serving pieces.

Is $12 a good price for this set?

It is the lowest new price among the six stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, and it is low for 12 pieces of stoneware. Expect to pay more at most other stores.

Does it come with mugs?

No. The set is plates and bowls only: large plate, small plate and bowl for each of four settings.

Will the plates chip?

Stoneware at this price can chip at the rim with rough handling. Hand washing and careful stacking reduce the risk.

Can I add more place settings later?

Only if the same Rockaway pattern is still sold. Solid white sets are often discontinued or restyled, so buy extra sets now if you need eight settings.

Our take on the Gibson Home Rockaway

The Gibson Home Rockaway is a 12-piece stoneware dinnerware set: four large plates, four small plates and four bowls, enough for four people. It is plain white, dishwasher safe and microwave safe, which makes it a low-cost everyday set rather than a formal one. The best new price was $12.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, well below what most 12-piece stoneware sets cost.
