Is the Cowsar chest freezer 3.5 or 1.8 cu ft?

The product name says 3.5 cu ft, but the listed specs say 1.8 cu ft. Confirm the capacity with the seller before ordering, since the two figures describe very different freezers.

Does it need to be defrosted manually?

Yes. It uses a water defrost drain rather than a frost-free system, so you defrost it by hand and drain the meltwater through the plug.

Can I keep it in a garage?

Yes. It is listed as garage ready and freestanding, so it can run in a garage, basement or RV as long as it has clearance for airflow.

Is it ENERGY STAR certified?

No. It is not ENERGY STAR certified and uses about 0.7 kWh per day, so check your local electricity rate to estimate running cost.

What temperature range does it hold?

The digital thermostat ranges from -7.6°F to 6.8°F, which covers deep freezing and a softer freeze setting.

Does it come with a lock or baskets?

No lock and no shelves or baskets are listed. Plan on adding your own baskets if you want to organize the interior.
