Does it come with a battery?

No. It is tool-only, so you need a Craftsman V20 battery and charger. The 6-1/2-in blade is included.

How deep will it cut?

2-1/4 in at 90 degrees, enough for a 2x4 laid flat and most 2x material. Depth drops as you bevel toward 50 degrees.

Can it cut metal and plastic?

The saw is rated for wood, metal and plastic, but the included 18T blade is for wood. Use a metal-cutting or plastic blade and eye protection for those materials.
