- Is the 4.0 Ah pack worth it over the 2.0 Ah?
- Yes if you run tools for long stretches. The 4.0 Ah pack roughly doubles runtime, which matters most for saws, grinders and trimmers. For short drill jobs the 2.0 Ah pack is lighter and enough.
- Will it fit my Craftsman V20 tools?
- Yes. The CMCB204 fits all Craftsman V20 20V Max tools and chargers. It does not fit the older 19.2V line or the V60 tools.
- How long does it take to charge?
- On the standard V20 charger, a fully drained 4.0 Ah pack takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Faster V20 chargers cut that roughly in half.
- Is $50 a good price?
- It is a fair price. Genuine 4.0 Ah packs typically sell for $45 to $70, so $50 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026 is near the low end. Below $45 is a stock-up price.
- Does it come with a charger?
- No. The CMCB204 is the battery only. Chargers are sold separately or come in V20 kits.
- Can I leave it on the charger?
- Craftsman chargers switch to maintenance mode when the pack is full, so overnight charging is fine. For long storage, keep the pack indoors and partly charged.
