Is $9.50 a good price for the 3-pack?

Yes. At $9.50 at TeachChildren.com as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest of the 5 stores listing it new and near the bottom of its recent range. Prices above $12 are common elsewhere.

What age are these crayons for?

Crayola places them at Stage 1 Scribble, aimed at toddlers roughly 12 to 24 months. They suit a child still gripping with the whole palm rather than fingers.

Are they safe if a toddler chews on them?

They are AP certified non-toxic, the standard art-material safety seal. They are not food, so keep them away from heavy chewing, but incidental mouthing is not a safety concern.

Do they wash out of clothes and furniture?

The wax is washable and comes off hands and most fabrics in the wash. Like any crayon, it can leave marks on painted walls and some upholstery, so supervise use.

How do they compare to regular Crayola crayons?

The eggs are far thicker and harder to snap, and each holds about 14 crayons' worth of wax. Regular crayons give finer lines but break easily in toddler hands.

Three egg-shaped crayons in blue, red and yellow, in a hang-pack. Each egg is a single color.

Our take on the Crayola My First Palm Grip Crayons

Crayola My First Palm Grip Crayons are egg-shaped crayons sized for toddlers' hands, sold in a 3-pack of blue, red and yellow. Each egg holds about as much wax as 14 regular crayons, so they last through heavy scribbling. The broad tip and rounded shape encourage a palm grip before a child learns a tripod hold. At $9.50 at TeachChildren.com as of November 4, 2026, the 3-pack sits at the low end of its recent range across 5 stores.
