Our take on the Crux TDR-RVM32 Rear-view Mirror with Front and Rear Camera, DVR and GPS

The Crux TDR-RVM32 is a 9.66-inch rear-view mirror that doubles as a two-channel dash cam, recording the road ahead and behind while logging GPS position. It clips over or replaces the factory mirror, records audio through a built-in microphone, and saves looped footage to the included 32GB micro SD card. Collision detection locks clips so they are not overwritten. It is a budget-friendly way to add front and rear coverage without a windshield-mounted unit.

Questions and answers

Is the Crux TDR-RVM32 worth it?
It is a low-cost way to get front and rear recording plus GPS in one mirror unit. If you want sharp plate-reading detail, check the resolution first, since it is not stated here.
Does it come with a memory card?
Yes, a 32GB micro SD card is included. With two channels recording, plan to offload or replace footage often, or buy a larger card.
Will it fit my car?
It is listed as a universal application and mounts over the existing mirror. Check that the 9.66-inch mirror does not block your sun visors or sensors.
Does it record at night?
It lists nighttime recording capability, but no night-vision distance figure. Expect usable footage in lit areas and weaker detail on dark roads.
Can it record audio?
Yes, it has a built-in microphone and records audio with the video. Check local laws before relying on audio in some states.
How is it installed?
It mounts on the mirror and needs power plus a cable run to the rear camera. A professional install is worth it if you do not want to route trim yourself.
