Our take on the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 23HP Kawasaki Zero Turn Mower

The Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 50 is a residential zero-turn mower with a 50-inch deck, a 23 HP Kawasaki twin-cylinder engine and dual hydrostatic drives. It cuts from 1 to 4.5 inches across 15 positions, side-discharges, and is rated for up to 4 acres. It weighs 570 lb and needs a mulch kit sold separately. The best new price is $425.10 at Crenvu as of November 4, 2026, far below what a 50-inch Kawasaki-powered zero turn normally sells for, so confirm the listing is the complete mower before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the Cub Cadet ZT1 50 worth it?
For a homeowner mowing an acre or more, yes: a 50-inch deck and Kawasaki engine cut mowing time sharply. At $425.10 at Crenvu as of November 4, 2026, the price is unusually low for this class, so verify the listing includes the full mower.
How does the ZT1 50 compare to the ZT1 42?
The ZT1 50 has an 8-inch wider deck and the same 23 HP Kawasaki engine, so it finishes large lawns faster. The 42-inch version fits through narrower gates and sheds.
Does it mulch?
Not out of the box. It side-discharges, and you need the Cub Cadet mulch kit, sold separately, to mulch clippings.
What lawn size is it built for?
Cub Cadet rates it for up to 4 acres. Most owners use it on 1 to 3 acres of fairly open ground.
What comes in the box?
The mower, the 12V battery and key-start ignition. The mulch kit and any bagger are separate purchases.
When is the price lowest?
Zero-turn mowers usually discount in late fall and winter, outside mowing season. The $425.10 at Crenvu as of November 4, 2026 is well below typical pricing, so check it soon.
Where is the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1 23HP Kawasaki Zero Turn Mower cheapest?
