Questions and answers

Is the XT1 LT42 worth it for a 1-acre lawn?
Yes, if you want hydrostatic drive and tight turning. A 42-inch deck handles about an acre comfortably, and the 2-acre rating leaves margin.
How does it compare with the XT1 LT46?
The LT46 has a wider 46-inch deck for faster mowing on open lawns. The LT42 is easier to fit through gates and around obstacles.
Does it have cruise control?
Yes. Cruise control holds a set ground speed on long straight passes, which helps on larger lawns.
What comes in the box?
The tractor and 42-inch deck ship assembled in part; the mulch kit and bagger are sold separately. Check the listing for the exact included items.
When is the price lowest?
Lawn tractors usually discount in late winter and early spring before mowing season. The current best new price is $2,199 at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026.
Can it handle slopes?
It is rear-wheel drive, so it handles mild slopes but can slip on steep or wet grades. Avoid mowing across steep hills.

At Home Depot, for $2,199.00, as of our latest check.
