Is the Dell Inspiron 14 (2024) worth it at $779?

At $779 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a 14-inch touchscreen laptop with a 512 GB SSD and fingerprint reader. Comparable 14-inch Intel laptops often sell for less with 8 GB RAM, so check which memory version the $779 listing is.

Should I get 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM?

Get 16 GB if you keep many browser tabs, spreadsheets and apps open at once. The 8 GB version is fine for web browsing, email and documents, but it is the first thing to feel slow.

Only light ones. Intel integrated graphics handle older or low-setting titles and casual games, not modern 3D games at high settings.

Does it have a touchscreen?

Yes, the listed configuration has a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 touchscreen.

What ports does it have?

USB-C, HDMI and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is no mention of an SD card reader or Ethernet, so plan on an adapter for those.
