Is the Inspiron 16 7640 2-in-1 worth it at $1,399?

At $1,399 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, you pay for a 16-inch touch convertible with a 90Whr battery and a Core Ultra 7. If you need dedicated graphics or a lighter tablet, look elsewhere; for everyday work and media it is a reasonable buy.

How does it compare with the Inspiron 14 2-in-1?

The 16 gives you a larger 16:10 screen and a bigger 90Whr battery, but it weighs more and is awkward to hold as a tablet. The 14 is easier to carry and cheaper for the same class of CPU.

How long does the battery last?

Dell rates the 90Whr battery at up to about 15 hours 36 minutes. ExpressCharge brings it to 80% in roughly 60 minutes with the right adapter.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 16GB LPDDR5X memory is soldered, so buy the capacity you need up front. The M.2 NVMe SSD is replaceable, and this configuration ships with 1TB.

Does it come with a stylus or is the keyboard backlit?

The keyboard is backlit, but an active pen is not included and must be bought separately for tablet-mode writing. Check the box contents for the exact bundle.
