Is the De'Longhi Dragon Digital worth it over a cheap fan heater?

If you want silence and steady heat in a bedroom or office, yes. A fan heater warms faster and costs less, but it is louder and its heat stops when the fan does.

How much does it cost to run?

At 1,500W it uses about 1.5 kWh per hour at full power. On the 700W setting it uses roughly 0.7 kWh per hour, and ECO mode cycles the element to hold a set temperature.

What size room will it heat?

De'Longhi rates it for about 250 square feet. It works best in a closed bedroom, office or small living room rather than an open-plan space.

Does it need oil or water?

No. The oil is sealed inside the fins for life, so there is nothing to refill and no fuel to buy.

What is the anti-freeze setting for?

It turns the heater on automatically when the room drops near 44°F. That suits garages, cabins and vacation homes where you want to prevent freezing.

Space heaters usually drop in price in late winter and early spring as stores clear stock. The current best new price is $189.95 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026.
