Our take on the Demorex 2 Gallon Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin Kit

The Demorex 2 Gallon Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin Kit is a two-part epoxy for tabletop pours, art coating, coasters and jewelry. It is self-leveling, claims a high-gloss, bubble-free finish and is marketed as non-toxic, BPA-free and food safe, with high resistance to yellowing. The 2 gallon kit is the largest size Demorex sells, alongside 17 oz, 32 oz and 1 gallon options. At $69.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Best forExperienced resin artists doing large tabletop poursCoaster and tray makers who want a deep, glossy finishJewelry makers coating or casting small piecesBuyers who want one big kit instead of several small ones
Pros
  • Large 2 gallon volume covers big tabletop pours
  • Self-leveling formula spreads and flattens on its own
  • High-gloss, crystal-clear finish
  • Claimed resistance to yellowing under UV
  • Non-toxic, BPA-free and food-safe claims
Cons
  • Only one store lists a new price, so comparison shopping is limited
  • Marketed for experienced artists; beginners may struggle with mixing and pour timing
  • Food-safe and non-toxic claims rest on the brand's own certification, not third-party test data shown here
  • Large kit is wasteful if you only make small pieces
  • Wood is the only listed compatible material

Questions and answers

Is the Demorex 2 gallon epoxy kit worth it?
At $69.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it works out to roughly $35 per gallon, which is low for a clear casting epoxy. It is worth it if you pour large tabletops or go through resin quickly; small-scale makers should buy a smaller size.
How does it compare with the 1 gallon kit?
It is the same formula in double the volume. The 2 gallon kit lowers the cost per gallon and suits big pours, while the 1 gallon size is easier to use up before it ages.
Is it food safe for coasters and trays?
Demorex markets the cured resin as non-toxic, BPA-free and food safe. That is the brand's own claim; if food contact matters, confirm the certification on the label before use.
How long does the 2 gallon kit last once opened?
Epoxy resin and hardener keep best in sealed containers in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use it within the shelf life printed on the bottles; the large kit is best for buyers who will pour often.
Will it yellow over time?
Demorex says the formula is highly resistant to yellowing under UV. No epoxy is fully immune, so keep finished pieces out of direct sun for long periods.
What comes in the box?
The kit contains the two-part epoxy resin and hardener in the 2 gallon total volume. Measuring cups, mixing sticks and pigment are not listed, so plan to supply your own.
Where is the Demorex 2 Gallon Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin Kit cheapest?
At Walmart, for $69.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Demorex 2 Gallon Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin Kit?
