Our take on the DeWalt 12V MAX/20V MAX/FLEXVOLT 8 Amp Fan Cooled Multiport Fast Charger with 20V MAX/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 6Ah Battery

This is a DeWalt charging kit built around the DCB104-style 8 amp fan-cooled multiport fast charger, bundled with a 20V/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 6Ah battery. The charger has four ports and can charge four packs at once, with a 6Ah pack filling in roughly 90 minutes. It accepts 12V MAX, 20V MAX and 60V MAX FLEXVOLT batteries, so one unit covers most of DeWalt's cordless line. The kit price reflects the included FLEXVOLT battery, which is the expensive part of the bundle.

Questions and answers

Is this charger worth it over a single-port charger?
If you run several DeWalt tools and own more than two batteries, the four simultaneous ports save real time. For one or two batteries, a single-port charger is cheaper and smaller.
What batteries does it charge?
It takes DeWalt 12V MAX, 20V MAX and 60V MAX FLEXVOLT lithium-ion packs. The included battery is a 20V/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 6Ah pack.
How long does a full charge take?
DeWalt rates the charger at about 90 minutes for a 6Ah pack. Smaller 2Ah packs charge faster.
Does the included battery work in 20V MAX tools?
Yes. FLEXVOLT packs run in 20V MAX tools at 20V and switch to 60V in FLEXVOLT tools.
Can I charge it in a truck or on a job site without power?
No. It runs on an AC wall outlet only, so you need mains power or a generator.
What is in the box?
The multiport fast charger and one 20V/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 6Ah battery. Tools are not included.
