Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Cordless 9 Tool Combo Kit, 20V 2.0Ah Batteries, and 20V 5.0Ah Battery

This is a DeWalt 20V MAX nine-tool combo kit built around the brand's slide-on lithium-ion battery platform. It bundles core cordless tools with two 2.0Ah packs and one 5.0Ah pack, so you get light packs for drilling and driving plus a larger pack for the saw and heavier work. The 5.0Ah battery alone typically runs $70 to $100, and the kit is usually priced well below buying the tools separately.

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it over buying tools separately?
Usually yes. The bundled batteries and charger alone cover a large share of the kit price, and the tools come out cheaper than buying them one by one.
Are the tools brushless?
Most nine-tool DeWalt combo kits use brushed motors or compact brushed designs. Check each tool's model number if brushless matters to you.
How long do the batteries last?
The 2.0Ah packs suit drills and drivers for light sessions. The 5.0Ah pack gives roughly two and a half times the runtime and is the one to use in the circular saw.
Do the batteries fit other DeWalt 20V MAX tools?
Yes. All 20V MAX lithium-ion packs work across the 20V MAX line, including bare tools sold separately.
What comes in the box?
Nine cordless tools, two 2.0Ah batteries, one 5.0Ah battery, a charger and a contractor bag. Confirm the exact tool list for the specific kit number before buying.
When is it cheapest?
DeWalt combo kits drop most during Black Friday, Father's Day and end-of-season clearance. Prices also dip when a newer kit replaces this one.
What do buyers say about the DeWalt 20V MAX Cordless 9 Tool Combo Kit, 20V 2.0Ah Batteries, and 20V 5.0Ah Battery?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 26 ratings.
