Is the DCB230 worth it?

Yes if you need a genuine spare for 20V MAX tools and want DeWalt cells. If you run saws or grinders hard, a higher-capacity pack gives longer runtime per charge.

Does it fit all DeWalt 20V MAX tools?

It fits tools and chargers in the 20V MAX line. It does not fit DeWalt 12V MAX tools or tools that require FlexVolt packs.

How long does the battery last per charge?

Runtime depends on the tool. Expect short runs in high-draw tools like circular saws and much longer use in drills and impact drivers.

The battery pack only. No charger and no tool are included.

Is it compatible with older DeWalt 18V tools?

No. It uses the 20V MAX slide mount and will not fit the older 18V stem-style tools without an adapter.

DeWalt packs often drop during holiday sales and in multi-pack bundles. Compare the per-pack price against two-packs before buying a single.

Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Battery Pack DCB230

The DeWalt DCB230 is a 20V MAX lithium-ion battery pack that works with DeWalt's 20V MAX cordless tools and chargers. It is a genuine DeWalt pack, not a remanufactured one, and uses the same slide-on mount as the rest of the 20V MAX line. It is a spare or replacement pack rather than a high-capacity upgrade, so it suits filling gaps in a kit more than powering long jobs.
