Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Reciprocating Saw with POWERSTACK 1.7Ah Starter Kit

This is DeWalt's 20V MAX cordless reciprocating saw bundled with a POWERSTACK 1.7Ah starter kit, aimed at cutting pipe, lumber and demolition work without a cord. The saw is a variable-speed, keyless-blade-change tool built on DeWalt's 20V MAX battery platform, and the POWERSTACK pack uses pouch cells for more power and longer life than the older 1.5Ah pack. At $328 at The Home Depot as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Pros
  • Runs on the wide DeWalt 20V MAX battery line
  • POWERSTACK cells deliver more power and runtime than the older 1.5Ah pack
  • Keyless blade change speeds up swaps
  • Variable-speed trigger and adjustable shoe for controlled cuts
  • Kit includes battery and charger, so it is ready to use
Cons
  • A 1.7Ah pack is small for heavy continuous sawing
  • Kit price is high for a single-battery bundle
  • No load stroke rate is not listed, so speed specs are unclear
  • Bare-tool versions cost less if you already own batteries
