Is the DCS565 worth it over a 7-1/4-inch saw?

Yes if you mostly cut plywood, siding and 2x material and want a lighter saw. A 7-1/4-inch saw gives more depth and power for heavy framing, but weighs noticeably more.

Does the kit include a battery and charger?

No. This listing is tool only, with the saw and a carbide blade, so you need a 20V MAX battery and charger or an existing DeWalt kit.

How deep will it cut at 45 degrees?

About 1-5/8 inches at 45 degrees, against 2-1/8 inches at 90 degrees. That covers most trim and 1x stock but not thick posts.

What blade does it take?

A 6-1/2-inch blade with a 5/8-inch arbor. The included carbide blade is fine for general work; a fine-tooth blade gives cleaner trim cuts.

Is it compatible with my existing DeWalt 20V batteries?

Yes. It runs on any DeWalt 20V MAX battery, and a 5.0Ah pack gives the best balance of runtime and weight.

When is the price lowest?

The lowest price seen since October 30, 2026 is $279.99, the same as the current listing, so there is no cheaper recent price to wait for. Holiday and spring tool sales are the usual times for discounts.
